Outbound Firearm Shipping
Sending a firearm somewhere — to a buyer's dealer, back to a manufacturer, or to another shop? We ship it out to any FFL in the country: packed properly, logged the way the ATF expects, and insured for any value you choose. $30 per firearm plus actual shipping — and because we hold wholesale rates with UPS and USPS, that shipping costs a lot less than a retail shipping store.
Packed, insured, and logged
A firearm shipped loose in a thin box is a claim waiting to happen, and one shipped without the right paperwork is a compliance problem. We pack it to survive the trip and record the disposition in our bound book so the trail is clean on our end. Insurance is available on top of shipping for any declared value you want — you pay the actual insurance cost, nothing marked up. You get tracking, not a shrug.
Where it can go
Interstate, a firearm ships to a licensed dealer on the other end — not to an individual's home — so we'll need the receiving FFL's information before it leaves. Long guns go UPS; handguns go UPS 2-Day Air with adult signature required, on our UPS firearm-enabled account; silencers ride UPS or USPS Priority Mail. Exportation is its own conversation, quoted per project. Tell us the destination and what you're sending, and we'll tell you the route and the cost.
How an outbound shipment runs
Bring it & name the destination
Drop off the firearm and tell us where it's going. For any interstate shipment we'll need the receiving dealer's FFL on file before it ships.
We verify the receiver
We confirm the destination FFL is valid and current, so your firearm isn't shipped into a dead end.
Pack, insure & log
The firearm is packed to carrier spec, insured for value, and logged out of our bound book with the disposition recorded.
Ship with tracking
It goes out via the carrier that handles that firearm type, and you get the tracking so you can watch it to the door.
Answers
Common questions
Can you ship a gun straight to the person buying it?
Only if that person is a licensed dealer. For a private buyer, federal law requires the firearm go to an FFL near them, and they do the transfer on that end. Give us the buyer's chosen dealer and we'll ship to it.
Do you ship handguns?
Yes — handguns go out UPS 2-Day Air with adult signature required, exactly the way the carrier demands, on our UPS firearm-enabled account. It's routine; we just need to know it's a handgun so it goes out correctly.
What does shipping cost?
$30 per firearm — covering packaging, booking, and the transfer out of our book — plus the actual shipping cost, and that's it. Our wholesale UPS and USPS rates run well under what a retail shipping store charges. Insurance is optional at actual cost for any value you choose. Outbound NFA items are $40 each, with the fee due at the time of filing.
