Approval first, then you build
A Form 1 is you asking the ATF for permission to make an NFA item yourself — most often turning a rifle into a short-barreled rifle, or building a suppressor. The key rule people get wrong: it has to be approved before you make it, not after.
We prepare the application so it's right the first time, e-file it, and walk you through what you can and can't do while you wait. When the stamp is approved, you're clear to build — and we can do the required engraving here too.
The engraving is part of it
A Form 1 build has to be marked with your name (or your trust's) and city/state, to the ATF's depth and size spec. We do that engraving in-house on our fiber laser, so the marking step isn't one more vendor to chase.

Approved — build & mark
Once the stamp is approved you're clear to make the item, and we can laser-engrave the required marking in-house.

Common questions
Can I build the rifle before the Form 1 is approved?
No — and this is the one that gets people in trouble. The item has to be approved before you make it. We'll tell you exactly what you can assemble now and what has to wait for the stamp.
Do you do the required engraving?
Yes. Your Form 1 item has to be marked to ATF specification, and we cut that on our fiber laser here, so you're not shipping your receiver to a third party to get it stamped.
